Cardamom futures lifts by 1.53% Uptick in demand

Cardamom futures rose over 1 per cent during morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators widened their bets in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market.

Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, supported the upward trend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for February 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1457.20 per kg, up by 1.53 per cent, after opening at Rs 1435, against a previous close of Rs 1435.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1469.

Today Subdued demand drags down cardamom futures by 0.28%

 
Cardamom futures were trading lower during morning trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines in the agri-commodity amid muted physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market.

Further, sufficient supplies on higher physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, influenced the downward trend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for February 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1553.10 per kg, down by 0.28 per cent, after opening at Rs 1560, against a previous close of Rs 1557.50. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1553.10.

Cardamom futures surge on pickup in demand in morning trade

 
Cardamom futures were trading higher during morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators build up fresh bets in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market.

Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, supported the upward trend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for February 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1,472 per kg, up by 0.53 per cent, after opening at Rs 1468.10, against a previous close of Rs 1464.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1475.

Cardamom futures trading lower during morning trade

Cardamom futures were trading lower during morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines in the agri-commodity amid muted physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market.

Further, sufficient supplies on higher physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, influenced the downward trend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for January 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1440.10 per kg, down by 0.46 per cent, after opening at Rs 1443.10, against a previous close of Rs 1446.80. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1440.10 .

Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, too supported the uptrend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for January 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1352.40 per kg, up by 0.39 per cent, after opening at Rs 1350, against a previous close of Rs 1347.10. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1368.90 .

Today Cardamom futures lifts by 0.49% on Uptick in demand

 
Cardamom futures were trading higher during morning trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators build up fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, supported the uptrend in the domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for January 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1,345 per kg, up by 0.49 per cent, after opening at Rs 1,335, against a previous close of Rs 1,338.40. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1,348.

Mentha Oil Futures Drop 3.80% on Diminishing Demand


Mentha oil futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants trimmed their positions in the agri-commodity amid fall in physical demand for mentha oil from major consuming industries in the domestic spot market.

Further, cut down of positions by traders in the spot market was due to decline in demand for mentha oil from consuming industries at the domestic spot market against sufficient stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions, influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the MCX, mentha oil futures for November 2016 contract were trading at Rs 937.20 per kg, down by 3.80 per cent after opening at Rs 969.10, against the previous closing price of Rs 974.20. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 936.

Further, abundant supplies on higher physical arrivals from the major Cardamom producing belts in the country also exerted downward pressure on domestic Cardamom prices.

At the MCX, Cardamom futures for August 2016 contract is trading at Rs 885.80 per kg, down by 0.55 per cent, after opening at Rs 889.90, against a previous close of Rs 890.70. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 882.

Agro Update – Today Cardamom Rises on pick up in Demand In Domestic market


Cardamom futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as traders widened their positions led by rise in demand in the spot market.

Further, rise in demand in the spot market amid restricted supplies from producing regions following end of the harvesting season, too fuelled the uptrend.

At the MCX, Cardamom futures for July 2016 contract is trading at Rs 862.70 per kg, up by 0.28 per cent, after opening at Rs 862, against a previous close of Rs 860.30. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 864.

Cardamom Rises 0.73% on Strong Buying Support

Cardamom prices rose by 0.73 per cent on Thursday at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on account of good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers and also on hopes of improved export demand. At MCX, Cardamom futures for June 2016 contract were trading at Rs 826.50 per kg, up by 0.73 per cent, after opening at Rs. 821 against the previous closing price of Rs. 820.50. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 827.80 till the trading. Sentiment improved further as a result of firm demand in the market against restricted arrivals from producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
 
Kerala (70 per cent), Karnataka (20 per cent) and Tamil Nadu (10 per cent) are the cardamom growing states in India while about 90 per cent of the produce is consumed within the nation. The important markets for cardamom in India are Vandanmendu, Bodinayakanur, Kumily, Thekkady, Kumbum and Pattiveeran Patti in Kerala.

Agro Updates - Jeera Ends Lower On Waning Demand

Jeera prices closed lower by 1.56 per cent on Tuesday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on account of a surge in the supply from the producing regions in the midst of a decline in the export demand. At the NCDEX, jeera futures for June 2016 contract closed at Rs. 16,105 per quintal, down by 1.56 per cent, after opening at Rs. 16,370 against the previous closing price of Rs. 16,360. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 16,050.
 
Global output of Jeera is around 2.2 lakh MT per year, of which India produces about 1.5 lakh MT per year.
 
India exports Jeera mainly to the US, UK, UAE, Japan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Singapore and many other countries. Other Major exporters are Syria and Turkey.

Cardamom prices rose by 2.93 per cent on Thursday early morning market at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on account of good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers and also on hopes of improved export demand. Further, restricted supply from major producing belt added to the rise in price.

At MCX, Cardamom futures for May 2016 contract were trading at Rs 833 per kg, up by 2.93 per cent, after opening at Rs. 833 against the previous closing price of Rs. 809.30. Agro Updates - Jeera Closes Higher As Traders Increased Holdings


Jeera prices closed higher by 3.45 per cent on Friday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as the investors increased their holdings in the commodity in the midst limited arrivals from growing regions. At the NCDEX, jeera futures for May 2016 contract closed at Rs. 17,075 per quintal, up by 3.45 per cent, after opening at Rs. 16,600 against the previous closing price of Rs. 16,505. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 17,120. 
 
Sentiment improved further as a result of reduced domestic supplies in the physical markets and some export enquiries.
 
Global output of Jeera is around 2.2 lakh MT per year, of which India produces about 1.5 lakh MT per year. India exports Jeera mainly to the US, UK, UAE, Japan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Singapore and many other countries. Other Major exporters are Syria and Turkey.

Agro Updates - Maize Ends Higher On Rise in Demand

Maize prices closed higher by 1.07 per cent on Monday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of a rise in the demand from exporters and poultry industries. At the NCDEX, maize futures for May 2016 contract closed at Rs. 1,223 per quintal, up by 1.07 per cent, after opening at Rs. 1,210 against the previous closing price of Rs. 1,210. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 1,234  Commodity markets were closed on April 19, 2016 on account of Mahavir Jayanti.
 
USA, China and Brazil are the top three maize producing countries in the world while the prominent exporters of maize are USA, Argentina and Brazil. Chief importers are Japan, EU, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia etc.
